4 apples, chopped (5 c)
3 eggs
1/2 c Apple butter
1 c brown sugar, packed
1/4 t cinnamon
1 t cornstarch
3/4 c 10 x sugar
5 large croissants
6 T butter
3/4 c heavy cream
2 T water
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Melt butter over medium heat and brown sugar. Mix and stir in apples. Cook 5 minutes.
3. In small bowl, stir cornstarch & water. Add to apples and cook 5 more minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
4. Whisk cream,& apple butter, eggs & cinnamon.
5. Spray a 9x11 casserole dish with Pam. Place bottom halves of croissants in dish. Pour 1/2 of Apple butter cream mixture over top of croissants; then 1/2 of apple mixture.
6. Arrange remaining croissant halves over top of apples. Top with remaining cream and then remaining apples. Gently press down croissants with wooden spoon.
7. Bake 375 for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and add glaze.
To glaze: Mix 10x sugar and heavy cream until smooth. Drizzle over casserole.
