2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into cubes
1 can condensed Cream of Chicken Soup
1 cup Milk
1 box Chicken Stove Top Stuffing
6 (approx.) slices deli ham (I used honey ham)
6 (approx.) slices Swiss cheese
2 Tbsp. butter, cut into lots of pieces
Salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste
Place a crockpot liner in the crock pot insert. Place chicken on liner. Season chicken with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
Mix the Cream of Chicken soup with the milk, salt, pepper and garlic powder; Pour soup mix over the chicken.
Next, add a layer of ham slices.
Prepare the stuffing according to the box and then spread evenly over the ham. Place butter slices on top of the stuffing.
Cover & cook on LOW for 4-6 hours.
Uncover crockpot and cook on HIGH for about 20 minutes to help thicken the liquid.
Next, place slices of Swiss cheese over the top of stuffing.
Re-cover and continue to cook until the Cheese is melted.
(Cook's note: Whenever I use Stove Top or boxed stuffing mix (I prefer cornbread flavor), I first will saute chopped onions, celery & canned mushrooms in butter to soften. Follow remaining directions to prepare stuffing. Season with salt, pepper, celery salt or sage to season. This just gives the stuffing a better flavor and texture!)
(If you haven't used the Crock Pot liners before...they're great...It makes for easy lifting and cleanup!)
