Ingredients

5-lb apples, peeled, cored & cut into chunks (about 10 apples)
2 c sugar
1 c apple juice or apple cider
1 1/4 t cinnamon
1/4 t each of cloves, nutmeg & allspice
pinch of salt

Cooking Instructions

Coat crock with Pam. Fill with apples (exact amount is not critical). As putting apples in the crockpot, sprinkle with layers of sugar. Cover and let sit at room temperature for a day (you can skip that step if you don't have the time). Add juice. Sprinkle with spices and salt & stir.

Cover & cook on low 10-12 hours. Turn off and cool. Blend or puree ingredients until smooth.

Store in glass jars in the refrigerator for 2 months or freeze up to 3 months.
