1.5 lbs ground beef
3/4 c uncooked white rice
1 onion, chopped
salt, garlic powder, onion powder, sugar, chives (or any seasoning that you normally use for traditional stuffed cabbage!)
1 t freshly ground pepper
2 egg whites
2.5 c ginger ale
1.5 c ketchup
1-8oz can tomato sauce
1/2 head cabbage, grated (8 c)
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Grease a 9x13 pan and set aside.
3. In large bowl, combine meat, rice, onion, spices and egg whites; mix well.
4. In a separate bowl, mix the ginger ale, ketchup and tomato sauce.
5. Place 6 c cabbage in the baking dish; spread meat-rice mixture over the cabbage; sprinkle with remaining cabbage.
6. Pour the catsup mixture over top of cabbage. DO NOT STIR!
7. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1.5-2 hours until liquid is absorbed.
