1 (12.8-oz) box Rice Chex Cereal
1 (24-oz) package white almond bark candy coating
1 (6-oz) box peppermint candy canes, crushed
(1/4 tsp peppermint oil, optional)
1. Place cereal in a very large bowl - the biggest one you have. Pour crushed candy canes on top of the cereal.
2. Melt candy coating according to instructions on the package. Add the peppermint oil to the candy coating and pour over cereal.
3. Stir until all the cereal is coated.
4. Pour cereal on wax or parchment paper and allow to harden. Once the cereal has hardened, break into pieces and store!
(Cook's note - I crush my candy canes in the food processor - it's quick and it pulverizes the candy canes!)
