Ingredients

3 T sugar
1.5 T cider vinegar
1.5T lemon juice
1/4 t red pepper flakes
3 sweet apples (Golden Delious), peeled and cored
1 T fresh or 1 t minced dried oregano

Cooking Instructions

1. Stir sugar, vinegar, lemon juice and red pepper flakes in small saucepan & bring to boil.
2. Add apples, cover and reduce heat; cook gently until apples are soft.
3. Mash apples with potato masher until almost smooth.
4. Stir in oregano, refrigerate and serve chilled.

(Cook’s note: This is good with grilled sausages and spicy mustard!)
