red onions (lots)
about 3/4 stick butter
Kielbasa sliced thin
Full head of cabbage cut in about about 1-2 inch pieces
Liberal dose of celery seed
Salt and pepper
a cup of chicken broth
egg noodles, cooked
(If you want to kick it up a notch, crished red pepper flakes; Extra chicken broth or water to keep it moist if needed)
1. Saute the red onions (lots) in butter.
2. Add Kielbasa sliced thin.
3. Add Full head of cabbage.
4. Add Liberal dose of celery seed; Salt and pepper.
5. Add About a cup of chicken broth.
6. Cover and let simmer until cabbage is pretty well cooked.
7. Add cooked noodles are done.
8. Add red pepper flakes (optional)
9. Summer for about 15 minutes; Add just a little more chicken broth or water to keep it moist if needed.
(Cook’s note: During the Covid19 self quarantine & self distancing of April 2020, I cooked a lot of chicken for 2 weeks because I caught great sales at our local Safeway. A lot of chicken! A friend posted a picture of this on Facebook and I started drooling! Love me some Polish food, sick of chicken cooked 101 ways, and, I just happened to have these ingredients!
